what first drew you to american idol ? Actually... It's kind of a long story. Let's see how short I can make it. I am rather obsessed with a British Pop singer named George Michael. Through GM message boards I heard about Pop Idol. I became envious that I could not watch Pop Idol until I went to England and came back to America to discover our very own AMERICAN Idol! Yay and happy stuff.

did you watch both seasons ? Religiously.

which did you like better? I liked the second season better. why? I'm very tempted to say Clay Aiken, but in all honesty, I got to watch it from the beginning and keep track (I missed the first few eps of Season 1, and I thought the competition in general was better. And Clay Aiken.

which idol did you like better, kelly clarkson or ruben studdard ? Definitely Kelly. Ruben's okay, but Kelly is more my style.

In the first season, who was your favorite? I adored Kelly. why? Big Band night really made my decision about the entire season. Kelly was SO amazing. I loved Tamyra, too, but Kelly really distinguished herself that night for me.

Between Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson, who did you want to be the American Idol ? Kelly. why? I never understood the fuss about Justin. I thought his voice was weak, and his personality irritated me a little.

In the second season, who was your favorite? Clay Aiken. (although Charles Grigsby was my second favorite!!!) why? I was into him from the beginning, in Atlanta. He made me sit straight up in my chair and take notice. I instantly related to him, and THEN he went and sang 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me' which, by the way, George Michael performed with Elton John (see my above answer about George). My heart went badda-boom, and I've been squealing ever since.

Between Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard, who did you want to be the American Idol ? Oh, I really wanted Clay to win. I was really kind of shocked that he didn't. why? Because I LOFF HIM OMG!!! (temporarily possessed, sorry). I just really liked Clay a lot more than Ruben.

Who was your favorite judge? Simon

If Simon wasn't your favorite judge, what did you think about him? I'll answer this even though I don't have to. I thought he was unnecessarily moody toward the end of last season. I appreciate his honesty, even when I don't agree. Actually... Simon was the reason I anticipated and started watching Season Two.

Did you go to any of the American Idol Tour Concerts? I was able to go to the season two concert.

What did you think? I was disappointed the audience wasn't bigger/more enthusiastic. I was thrilled to be there, and didn't understand why other people were less excited.

Did it change your opinion on any of the contestants? Actually, no. Not at all.

Have you met any of the Idols of either season ? Nope. Although Kelly was in my town today!

If so, what did you think of them ? (N/A)

Have you ever stalked any of them ? Do I have to answer that *hides* Okay, okay, just kidding. In the technical sense of the word, no. In the hanging around like a typical fan in hopes of scoring an autograph? Yeah, baby. Apparently I'm no good at this, though.

What do you think of Kelly Clarkson's music career now ? I'm not sure, really. She sure does get a lot of airplay.

Do you have her cd ? Yes. If so, what do you think ? I love it. I honestly feel it was well put-together. I like the variety on it.

What do you think of Clay Aiken's music career now ? I'm a little worried. So many DJs and people in general seem to have a distaste for him.

Do you have his cd ? Yes. If so, what do you think ? Overall, I think it was rushed. I find the songs sometimes trite (for ex. 'I Survived You') or blase. I love Clay, but I feel like the CD was recorded while he was half-asleep in the studios. There is little passion, save on 'Measure of a Man' and a few places in a couple other songs. Now, although I wrote all that stuff (which is my honest opinion), I love the CD and I listen to it over and over. I just can't get enough of Clay.

What do you think of Ruben Studdard's music career now ? I don't really keep up with it to be honest. After I heard the first couple tracks from his album, I realized his musical style doesn't appeal to me.

Will you buy his cd ? I don't plan on it, but I might.

What do you think about Justin Guarini's music career now ? Ouch.

Do you have his cd ? Yes. If so, what do you think ? I wish I hadn't bought it. I really expected it to be pretty good, since I was so pleased with Kelly's, but I was disappointed. I just don't get the "ladies' man" vibe he seems to be trying so hard to exude.

What do you think about his record label dropping him? The whole dispute probably involved tons of things I know nothing about. Do you agree ? Based only on what I have read about the situation? Yes, I think I agree with his label.

Your Opinion of...

Kimberly Locke :
Classy, sassy, and practical

R.J. Helton : He sounds great on the AI: Greatest Moments CD!!!! I was never impressed with him at any time on the show. Nice kid, but... not diggin' the performances.

Frenchie : Powerful, passionate, bold

Kimberly Caldwell : Not a fan. I think she looks cheap, and the raspiness of her voice hurts me.

Nikki McKibbin : I liked her personality, but ouch, the singing. Ouch.

Tamyra Gray : She started strong, but I didn't feel she really followed through. I loved her early AI performances.

Trenyce : Trenyce was one of my favorites from the beginning. Her performance at the tour was AWESOME. I enjoyed her.

Carmen Rasmusen : I think her voice would do well with a recording studio. I know she has wacky vibrato and she yodels, but she has a really strong sound. I think she's okay.

Charles Grigsby : Underrated. Sure, he blends in and seems a little dorky, but this kid can sing Stevie! I loved Charles, and I was thrilled I got to see him on tour.

Christina Christian : How gorgeous is she? She isn't a strong singer. I'm glad she got a job doing something on television, though. I love seeing her face, and she seems to have a great personality.

Julia DeMato : I just never cared for her. 'At Last' on the Season 2 Love Songs CD was awesome, but that's about it. I thought her presence was awkward, her voice was never strong on the show, and she seems too inhibited to really be a performer.

Have you ever tried out for American Idol ? No.

What was your experience ? (N/A)

Are you planning on trying out next season ? No.

Are you excited for next season? Does this mean season three? Yes, I'm thrilled! What do you expect ? um. I expect the talent pool to be deeper this year.

Any other opinions you want to include ? I really like GEORGE HUFF this year!!! He is my favorite this season, and I love him! [/spaz]

Last question...

Do you consider yourself an "OBSESSED" American Idol Fan ?! My friends definitely consider me obsessed. I keep a notebook so I can write things down for each episode. I also 'Power Watch' when I can... I tape it and then watch it later so I can fast-forward through commercials and rewind/rewatch at will. I obviously don't have TiVo, hahaha.
